2019-05: ABA CPT Code Changes

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) recently announced that the 2019 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Medicaid Fee Schedule has been posted. 

Please note: The assessment codes 97151 and 97152 differ from previous assessment codes. The new codes only have one assessment code, 97151, that should be used for initial and follow-up assessments.

Reminder: Behavior Identification Assessment 0359T was listed in the previous fee schedule as one untimed unit at $400. When the units are converted, it should equal 16, 15 minute units for four hours of assessment time. Therefore, as of Jan. 1, 2019, 97151 will have a soft cap of 16 units with more units approved if medically necessary.
