2021-11: Veyo to Provide Medicaid NEMT and NEAT Effective May 1, 2021 (Revised 6/10/21)

Effective May 1, 2021, Louisiana Healthcare Connections will contract with Veyo to coordinate non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and non-emergency ambulance transportation (NEAT) for our eligible Medicaid members. Our partnership with Veyo brings new opportunities for reliable service and improved experience for members, providers and drivers.

    To help make the transition to Veyo as easy as possible for our members and providers, we are keeping the same phone number. Let us know if your NEMT request is for a date of service before, on or after May 1, and we’ll make sure your ride is scheduled. There’s no change to your process.

*Please note: Louisiana Healthcare Connections’ contract with ModivCare (formerly LogistiCare) for Medicaid NEMT services will end April 30, 2021. Allwell from Louisiana Healthcare Connections will continue to contract with ModivCare for Medicare NEMT.

The Louisiana Healthcare Connections or Veyo Customer Service team will assist with scheduling and provide guidance on the Certificate of Ambulance Transportation (CAT) Form. Once the completed CAT form is provided by the provider, the request will be completed and the trip dispatched. The CAT form can be emailed or faxed in per the following.

Please note: After hours the health care providers can coordinate directly with ambulance providers and the ambulance provider can then send the CAT form with their claim. They can do so by any one of the three options below.

Claims clearing house  

Providers may continue to use any of the clearinghouse vendors currently in use, however, we recommend using a vendor that allows providers to submit attachments with the claim.

NEAT Providers: NEAT providers may continue to use the current billing process (billing Louisiana Healthcare Connections directly) until September 30, 2021. Effective October 1, 2021, NEAT providers must submit claims to Veyo. Claims billed directly to Louisiana Healthcare Connections for NEAT services on October 1, 2021, or after will be denied by Louisiana Healthcare Connections and providers will be directed to submit to Veyo for processing.

As a reminder, NEAT trips must have a completed Certificate of Ambulance Transportation (CAT) form either on file or submitted with the claim in order to be considered for payment. Access the Certificate of Ambulance Transportation (PDF) form.
