Louisiana Healthcare Connections' Holiday Health Care-A-Van is Heading Your Way

Bringing Free Screenings, Resources, and Holiday Cheer to Plaquemine, LA

Baton Rouge, La. – Louisiana Healthcare Connections, in partnership with the City of Plaquemine, is excited to announce the upcoming Holiday Health Care-A-Van event, scheduled for December 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will be held at the City of Plaquemine Activity Center (COPAC) Gym, located at 24130 Ferdinand Street, Plaquemine, LA 70764. This festive and family-friendly event aims to spread holiday joy while providing vital health services and needed resources.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive FREE health screenings, including COVID and flu vaccinations, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, cancer screenings, and fluoride varnish applications to keep kids’ smiles healthy. The event will also feature CPR and AED demonstrations and specialized screenings for healthy aging. Alongside these screenings, attendees can access important information and resources related to maternal and mental health, opioid addiction, domestic violence support, workforce development, and much more.

The Holiday Health Care-A-Van will also offer a variety of fun activities, such as Zumba, face painting, and massages. Attendees can enjoy catered refreshments, prizes, and giveaways. Passports will be provided for participants to collect stamps for each screening received, with chances to win exciting rewards.
