Behavioral Health Workforce Survey Deadline 9/18

Date: 09/06/24

The Center for Evidence to Practice, a partnership between the Office of Behavioral Health and LSU, is assessing behavioral health access and gaps in practices in an effort to improve behavioral health outcomes for youth and families. Behavioral health providers are encourages to complete the behavioral health workforce survey before Sept. 18th.

From the Center for Evidence to Practice:

Why is this important?

Louisiana takes a purposeful look at the gaps and needs of our behavioral health services, providers, and the people they serve through periodic surveys. The last survey was in 2016, and those findings led to key changes in emphasis on certain practices and services. This survey will ask you information about access and gaps in practices in your area. It also asks you key questions about the mental health and substance abuse treatment workforce. The goal is to help inform the state and ultimately improve behavioral health outcomes for youth and families. We cannot do this accurately without you; however, the survey is completely voluntary.

How can you help? Just two steps:

  1. FILL OUT THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH WORKFORCE SURVEY
  2. Forward this link to colleagues and encourage them to do the same.

Help us tell your story!

Information collected from providers will be merged and summarized in an inventory of services and programs, which will be used to identify gaps in regional and state services. You will not be identified in any of our reporting, just the ideas you share. We will pull together and share what you give us regarding opportunities for expansion of practices, or implementation of new services, that might fill perceived gaps in care at the regional and state levels. As a participant in this survey, you will be guaranteed access to these recommendations, as we will send you the resulting report.

How Long Will This Survey Take?

Depending on the number of distinct behavioral health programs/interventions you describe, this survey can take as little as 15 minutes or as long as 20 minutes.

Who are we and why are we doing this?

If you don’t know the Center for Evidence to Practice, we help in areas with technical assistance and training to develop the workforce implementing critical services in Louisiana as a partnership between LSU and the Office of Behavioral Health.
