Changes to Third Party Liability (TPL) Carrier Code Listing (IB 24-21)

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is sharing updates made to the Third Party Liability (TPL) Carrier Code Listing (IB 24-21) on June 7, 2024.
The carrier code listings changes were to improve effeciency and accessibility.
The changes included:
Expanded distribution: The updated Carrier Code Listing will now be distributed to all eight managed care entities (MCE) in Louisiana. This includes:
- AmeriHealth Caritas
- United Healthcare
- Aetna
- Healthy Blue
- Humana Healthy Horizons
- Louisiana Healthcare Connections
- DentaQuest
- MCNC
This broader distribution ensures all MCEs have access to the most current carrier information.
A pdf will still be accessible at CARRIER_CODE.PDF (lamedicaid.com).
New File Layout:
The Carrier Code Listing will adopt a new layout to facilitate easier data integration and utilization. The new layout includes the following fields:

File Frequency:
The Carrier Code Listing will be updated monthly to ensure all MCEs have access to the most recent carrier information. Additionally, the listing will be updated whenever a change occurs to maintain accuracy
