Electronic Claims Attachments Now Available

Effective August 15, 2020, an enhanced claims submission process was implemented to help providers transition from paper claims attachments to electronic claims attachments. This enhancement is through Availity, a national electronic claims clearinghouse. Utilizing the Availity system will help to improve turnaround times (TATs) and reduce engagment needs to process claims, as well as improve the over all quality of claims submissions for providers.

Louisiana Healthcare Connections understands that electronic attachments are an essential part of a your practice and Availity's enhanced attachment tool will improve functionality for claims submissions. By utilizing the electronic attachment process, providers benefit from:  

  • Improved claims management by streamlining the entire claims lifecycle, from submission to payment and remittance delivery.
  • Easy online access to claims submissions and payment status history.
  • Efficiency in office operations by reducing the need to scan, print and mail paper claims attachments – plus, a reduction in paper usage.

Providers who currently submit paper claims attachments are encouraged to transition to electronic submission to experience the full benefits of participating in this new process using Availity. In the coming weeks, Availity will be contacting providers who may benefit from transitioning from paper claims to electronic claims.
