Louisiana Healthcare Connections Sponsors Upcoming Free Dental Clinic

Date: 08/07/23

Baton Rouge, La.

Recognizing the crucial link between dental health and overall well-being, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation committed to helping people lead healthier lives, is pleased to announce its platinum sponsorship of the Louisiana Mission of Mercy (LaMOM) Dental Clinic on Aug. 11-12, at the Cajundome & Convention Center in Lafayette.

The LaMOM Dental Clinic will provide a comprehensive range of dental services on a first-come, firstserved basis, without any eligibility or income requirements. No advance paperwork is necessary to receive services. The treatments offered include dental cleanings, exams, X-rays, fillings, extractions, anterior root canals, a limited number of partial dentures, and children's dental care. Patients must pass a simple medical screening before receiving dental care, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian until all treatment is complete.

"LaMOM is an incredible dental outreach event with the purpose of treating adults and children who have limited financial resources or are otherwise unable to visit a dental office,” said Annette Droddy, executive director and CEO of the Louisiana Dental Association. “That is why we are so pleased to partner with Louisiana Healthcare Connections to bring two days of free dental services to the Lafayette area.”

"Louisiana Healthcare Connections is committed to prioritizing dental health, recognizing its significant impact on overall health. We offer up to $500 in dental services to our members and actively promote fluoride varnish treatments for children," stated Dr. Stewart Gordon, chief medical officer for Louisiana Healthcare Connections. "Understanding that dental health is often overlooked, particularly in underserved communities, we are pleased to partner with LaMOM, a like-minded organization that shares our mission of enhancing health outcomes in the communities we serve."
