Provider Notice: NIA System Outage for Radiology Authorizations

Louisiana Healthcare Connections was recently made aware that National Imaging Associates's (NIA) web-based systems are down (as of the afternoon of April 14, 2020). Currently, NIA is working on the issue but does not have an estimated time for resolved. 

NIA, an affiliate of Magellan Health Services, managed the radiology benefit for Louisiana Healthcare Connection. Their program includes management of non-emergent, high-tech, outpatient radiology services like CTs, MRIs and PET scans. 

During this system outage, providers will need to contact NIA by phone for all authorizations. To reach NIA, please call 1-866-326-6301 for Medicaid authorizations and 1-800-424-4824 for Medicare Advantage authorizations and follow the prompt for radiology.

For routine requests/services that are not being rendered in the immediate term, NIA is asking providers to call back in or submit the request through Rad MD once their systems are back up.
