Please Start Using Your New Member ID Cards on October 28th
Date: 10/05/23
All Louisiana Medicaid health plans are changing their Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) to Magellan Medicaid Administration. This means that all Medicaid members will have new pharmacy information on their Member ID cards. That is why we have sent new Louisiana Healthcare Connections Member ID cards with updated pharmacy information to all our members. Learn more about your new Member ID card here.
IMPORTANT: Members were instructed to start using these cards on October 1st. However, the transition to a new PBM was delayed by the Louisiana Department of Health. The new PBM will now go into effect on October 28th.
Please continue using your current card and begin using your new card on October 28th.
We apologize for the delay and any confusion this may cause. We know getting your medications easily is important to you, and it’s important to us, too. We assure you that we are working closely with pharmacies to address the delay.
I threw away my older card and only have my new one. What should I do?
Do not worry. If you no longer have your older card, you can show the pharmacist the information below. This information is what they need to be able to fill your prescription.
RxBIN: 004336
RxPCN: MCAIDADV
RxGRP: RX5444
On October 28th, your pharmacist will start using the pharmacy information on the new card we sent you, so be sure to hold onto it until then.
If you have not received a new Member ID card by October 28, 2023, it could mean that your contact information is not up to date. In this case, please call us at 1-866-595-8133 (Hearing Loss: 711), Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We can update your mailing address and send you a new card.
Members with Behavioral Health benefits only: You were not sent a new ID card and are not affected by the PBM change.
